Race Day!

Lovely cold morning :-)

Seriously though, conditions were perfect, if a little chilly for my Thai heat conditioned body!

Two hours before the race I drank a 1.5 litre smoothie of 5 bananas, 185g of watercress, rocket and spinach with some green powder.

The race details are here.

I ran the first mile far too fast (sub 6min/miles), the slow miles at 2 and 5 miles are because of the hill (climb of about 250m quite rapidly).

I was disappointed not to break 44 minutes, but realistically with my cold, a time close to my PB was not on the cards today. With better pacing I'm sure I could have broken 44 minutes. Great atmosphere, I miss racing in the UK :-(

I managed a quick hello (twice) to an aspiring raw runner (one of the stewards), I hope my strained breathing on the second lap hasn't put her off raw food!

No idea if I'll be able to fly back to Thailand at the end of the week, the airport is still closed.

Back on the road again now, no running until Wednesday or site updates.
