Fasting and Raw Food Healing

 

A couple of weeks ago I went on a fasting retreat in Devon.

 

 

I went back to where my health/healing journey began nearly 10 years ago.

 

I originally went on a fast to heal my IBS (25 years) and ended up healing not only my IBS but other long term ailments; psoriasis and urticaria (hives) in SEVEN DAYS, plus I lost 4 stone (54 lbs) of weight over a four month period. Switching to a predominately raw food diet gave me back the energy I had previously enjoyed as a child/teenager.

 

Fasting is nothing new, humans have been fasting for thousands and thousands of years.

 

I read this book by an M.D. on fasting 10 years ago and it convinced me to try the unthinkable (at the time); of not eating for a week.

 

Since then I've done a number of fasts (over 10 in total), mostly water fasts, although I have experimented with green juices (e.g. wheatgrass).

Each fast had a deeper (health) healing effect on me.

 

 

I returned to the UK in Oct 2011 from Thailand (where I enjoyed 6 years with periods of 100% raw, and not less than 70%).

 

The return to the UK, in hindsight triggered a reoccurence of depression, which I hadn't really experienced since the first few years following my brother's death on 9/11. He was on the 106th floor of WTC1 and stood no chance.

I won't go into the details of 9/11 other than to say we are constantly being lied to, in all matters; media, health, finance, wars etc.

 

There was clearly an outright conspiracy to withold the truth re 9/11.

I blame the cultural brainwashing and our (left)brain damaged selves for accepting and not questioning some of the odd stuff that happened that day.

Anyway back to the return to the UK, the drinking (& cooked) food started to increase again, and in November I found myself only a couple of stone lighter than my heaviest weight and not in a good space/place! I joined a gym again, and met up with an old school friend a week before my 44th birthday. He had done a fast 6 years ago and was itching to do another. So we went on the January fast at www.suradetox.com .

And it was amazing.

 

On this fast I read another book on fasting, this time I was more interested in the emotional healing than the health side ...

 

I'm currently writing a book called "IBS saved my life", the cure for IBS is pretty simple (fasting and raw food) and quick, but it's the emotional side that really needs time to heal. More on the book later ...

 

Right now I'm back to being about a stone (14lbs) above my ideal weight, as the Brighton 1/2 marathon approaches and over the following months, eating higher raw, I expect my weight to stablise around 10 stone 7 lbs.
