Raw Food Marathon Day Forty Two

The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything ...

Is of course

42

So I'm on Day 42 of my Hastings Marathon training.

Considering I didn't really build any sort of base (I did sporadic speed training this summer), I'm pleased my long run is now up to 19 miles.

I have recently finished "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. It's about a year of seasonal, local eating.

The book is pretty entertaining and thought provoking. Whilst geared towards ominvores and cooked fooders, I liked her advice of making meal plans for the seasons, rather than starting with a recipe and having a treasure hunt for its ingredients. This applies to raw and cooked meals.

Apart from my post run and breakfast smoothies, I'm going to try a week of more mono-style eating.

Lunch today is watermelon. Three kilograms of delicious fruit for 55pence.
