Raw Food Diet and Running

Monday March 17th 2008

Twelve miles run in a negative split was the plan. However I still have this chesty cough. Who says raw fooders never get ill?! I felt better than I did on Saturday so I headed out of the door at 6am. All was going well until I was halfway through mile 8, I could literally hear my pleghm gurgle and despite wanting to stop I managed to get to mile 9 before I coughed up buckets of the stuff. "Enough already" I said! So I took a much needed breather and jogged/walked the remaining 3 miles. As for the 9 miles themself they weren't too bad considering I feel lousy.

So, more ginger, lemon & Manuka honey (not vegan I know) drinks and rest are on the cards. Bar a 6 mile recovery the important run this week is a 20 miler on Thursday.

Lots of dragon fruit today. I have a craving for oranges so I'm going to have some large juices later on today.
